I just want to squeeze mothgirl. But my wife would never go for that, nor do I want to face the wrath of the mothman bass.

Why is this the best bass? Because it has a unique ability: Due to the materials used, it will sell for a very high price. High enough you can buy a J and a P from the sixties, a Fodera, a Sadowsky, a Dingwall and a house to put them in.

IMO, best Bass for metal is a lot of Basses that I can think of, but for some reason this one keeps popping up in my head that I would want to use, the Spector NS 5XL USA Bass, with it's awesome 2 active EMG 40DC humbuckers.Hey if he can have a thread on the best bass that some people are actually taking seriously, then I want a new thread on the best bass for metal!!

Spectors are like a dream metal bass for me.
The beer tap is an inspired touch. A writer I know attached one to his desktop with great result.
Yes, his book is seven years overdue, but it goes like that with books regardless of alcohol consumption levels.
Based on what I read around here, I'm a rank amateur playing subpar equipment. But I'll put in my 2 cents.
My original rig was a G&L L-2000 through a Peavey Databass.
Played that for 6 years. Bought a Peavey Mark IV with an 1820 cab.
Bought an Epi T-Bird. Sold that and bought Squire VM V Jazz through a Hartke LH-500 with a Hydrive 4x10.
Far and away the Jazz through the Hartkevwith some compression and it punches you right in the stomach.
Played through an Ashdown at an open mic the other night and sounded like I was underwater.
Point being, it's all relative.
