best chain restaurants

I've only seen one around here, wasn't sure they were a chain. Good stuff at good prices. They've got my approval.

+1 more for In N' Out.

And I disagree with Outback, I think Stuart Andersons/Black Angus runs circles around them, though I'm not sure if they're national or just regional.

I dig pretty much all the Mexican fast food chains (aside from those with "Taco" in their title) Baja Fresh, Rubio's, Chipotle, etc.

In terms of Burgers I've never had a bad experience at either Islands or Red Robin.

BJ's Restaurant Brewhouse is one of our favorites for Chicago style pizza and microbrews, and their nacho's used to be worth the trip alone for us....

Eh, I'm rambling.

Red Robin RULES.

I like Red Robin too. But paying over $50 for a family of four (my kids are only 8 & 6) to go out for burgers and a side of onion rings limits our visits there to about 3 times a year. I can pay the same at Friday's and get (IMO) better food. :)
Disagree.

I think that the menu at Red Robin is superior to the other "neighborhood grill" style restaurants that it competes with: Applebees, TGIFridays, Chili's, etc.

It's pricey if I get alcoholic drinks, but the girlfriend and I just had lunch at Islands for $20 including two tasty burgers and drinks. That's not easy to pull off at the majority of sit down restaurants in these parts.

In Finland (only large chains considered):

Best hamburgers: Hesburger. Their mayonnaises are really delicious and the "open secret" behind their success. I bet they are the market leader way before McDonalds (#2) here in Finland.

Best pizza: Rosso. These are a more exclusive than the average pizza you get on the street, still reasonably priced. They've never let me down so far.

If you like tex-mex food (not fast food style), Amarillo is the place to go. They have a cool logo as well that they use in the restaurants:

Just couldn't find a better picture of it on the web...

Yeah they moved in about a year ago I think. They even sell local microbrews to go with your noodles.
The sad fact is that the majority of my restauranting decisions are based largely on alcoholic beverages available at the various establishments. There are a number of places that keep me as a loyal customer despite having mediocre food because of quality microbrews and mixed drinks.

Noodles & Co is luckily one of the better short order restaurants, and their inclusion of natural and organic items gets them bonus points.
