best Fender Bass?

i made a Thread the other day asking for players opinion on the best MIM Fender Bass, so far for MIM i like the Reggie Hamilton. I recently ran into alot of money, so i would like players opinions on which Fender bass is the best period they have played. i will try out any of the opinions, so i will appreciate any replies, thanks!

"Off the rack" - the American Vintage RI's are a good deal and are being discontinued (so I've read) and there are some good deals out there.

The best I've ever played is my 57' AVRI P bass, which is exactly why it's mine

They are revamping the line up, so they'll be back. Most are speculating a winter NAMM release.
