Best Fender's series

I really loved the AmDeluxe J that I had a few years ago. (sniff) (There are the hidden pains of divorce.) There are so many other manufacturers out there that make lower-priced and better quality product with more than 20 frets out there that it does make one re-evaluate what one wants in a Fender, assuming that everyone with multi axes must have at least one of Leo's babies. My MIM Jazz fretless does me very nicely these days, as my fretted preferences now lie elsewhere (namely, Warwick).

I really like the Jaco signature in the fretted, non-beat up model.

Oh, I'm kinda partial to '63 P basses, too.

The FMT is very consistent, I have seen 3 and they were all top notch. Although we did hear pd's horror story about the one with the neck problem. But that's the only problem I have heard of.

The few Custom Shop(1 Strat, 1 Tele, a P 5 and a J) models I have played were top notch too.

I like their American Deluxe and American Series basses. Everyone I've tried has sounded nice (even it it wasn't setup properly). I especially love the look of the new FMT series!

I like the fenders that were around before there were mim, mij, hot rod, signature, etc.... You cant beat an old P or J in my books. Now harass me all you want.

i have to say the '97 MIA Jazz V's came out rather well. i own one and have played a few Jazz v's from '97 and they all sounded fat. i've tried a few newer ones (with the smaller tuners, different electronics, etc...) and it's just not the same. my vote goes to the MIA '97 Jazz V....

I just got this strange P bass lyte off ebay and it is by far the best fender I've played. Here's what it is:
J-bass body (a little "rounder" than a j actually), slim J-bass neck, PJ "lace pickups", active electronics, and it weighs so little that you barely even know it's on, yet the sustain and fullness rivals my warmoth Jazz. I picked it up for about $350 and is so far my best bass puchase.

I also have a squier that was given to me by a friend, and after changing the pickups and getting a pro tech to set it up, it sounds decent. I was very suprised.

My MIM Standard fretless Jazz has also been a great bass. I think when people put down fenders, they are trying out fenders that weren't set up by good techs, because every time I try one that is set up properly I can't see how someone could bad talk it (for the price you are paying).

That was my roscoe beck V,

i still have it, deadbead buyer and i was all of a sudden in need of a fretted 5 again,
