Hats the best five stringer for metal, I'm looking at a k5 feildy, Spector ns-anything..
"what's". Not "Hats" ...... sorry..
Dude, brace yourself for an onslaught of trolls. The 'best bass for metal' question has been asked so many times and people got so sick of hearing it they troll any thread with that title like mad. it's become a sad cliche around here, so try not to let any of it get to you.
As for an answer, check out the Spector legends. I have one and it's got a great, growly, aggressive tone. Great basses.
The best hat for metal, is the hat the dude, Kesslari wore the other day to open for The Ohio Players.
Does it really matter about 90% of metal the bass is drowned out in the mix. So I would say just get something pointy that looks cool and make sure it's black.
This cant be for real... not again...
The new Alex Webster SPECTOR® was designed with "Metal" bassists in mind... Alex was very hands-on regarding the specs.
I designed the blood graphic for the bass for Alex and have had one of the prototypes in my studio to play and take photos of for SPECTOR®. It's a cool bass. I personally have one on order.
It features dual active EMG DC pups running through an 18v EMG BQC circuit.
The really cool thing about this bass is the neck profile. It's been shaved down to become the skinniest neck you can get on a SPECTOR®, making it very fast. And if you're familiar with Alex Webster's music you understand why.
It was designed to be the ultimate metal bass.

That's why you play a spector. Because it cuts through a wall of guitars and sounds beast!
Pretty much any bass can play metal so it all comes down to personal preference. After reading your posts you've apparently already owned a Spector and liked it, so why not get another?
Let's say this Spector is it then, this is the ultimate bass for metal. Sticky this thread. Maybe the questions will stop!
Whichever bass goes CHUGGACHUGGACHUGGA.
I got some pretty cool sounds out of my jazz when I detuned an entire octave.
Fender Jazz V
Nothing says "metal" like a BC Rich.
Thanks everyone I'm going to buy another Spector.. I was offered a dean edge 5 for 299.00 red trans..But... I screwed up and sold my ns5crfm and worried that a cheap bass wouldn't work out..
