I never could get along with Chromes. I liked Sadowsky alot though. TI's I had to try on 3 different basses, but now they found one they like and I love them to death - been on for months and I always look forward to playing it.

Labella dtb's are the best. In the world. Fact.

These strings changed my playing life.
Chromes are good too but I had them go dead dead after 3 years. I get the sense my GHS are gonna Dunn/Jamerson me into the next decade like James La Bellas

I have em on my Tele bass and i must say, they are the best sounding strings i have ever played. they just kill the audience everytime
They also last for 8 years or so, so no more changing....

ti flats + a proper setup. take solace in the fact you can spread the cost out for years and then some. the break in time takes a bit longer to so don't string em up and run off all giddy to your next gig 
I have only tried Rotosound 77s and GHS Precision flats. I love the Rotos on my jazz bass. The GHS were on a P bass. I didn't like them...

I use Chromes on my Jazz and am happy. The TI's sound really full in that video and that's got me thinking...
I like everything about the TI's except the tension. The LaBella's sound great in the video linked above. Are they close to say a GHS Boomer 105 set in tension?
Chromes seem to be widely considered the "gateway drug" of flats... Fairly inexpensive and well made, and lucky for you they're definitely on the brighter end of the flatwound spectrum.
If you're going from standard gauge rounds, be sure to go with the light gauge set or the tension might prove a little overwhelming.

I've tried MANY, and I love Sadowsky and TI flats. I've also heard great things about Labella deep talkin flats. There are many threads on flats, with some pretty good descriptions of the subtleties of each.
I use LaBella Nylon Black Tape wounds on all 5 of my basses a USA G&L L2500 fretted a USA G&L L2500 frettless a USA G&L SB1 a Fender Squire P and a Michael Kelly Club Custom. Both of my L 2500 have the acives removed and full coil tapping so muddy is not an issue. The SB1 is stock ad really is punchy. The fender P I have install Bass lines PUs so again not muddy and the MK sounds very close to an upright. So for me they are tops, you must find what works for you.
