Best Gear Purchase in 2017

Hello everyone. Every year I throw up a thread like this. 2o17 will be no different.

I'm wondering what your best bass gear purchase was this year and why. It can be new or used, amp or bass or accessories, expensive or cheap, whatever you bought that floated your boat!

I'll start! I bought this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/markbass-bass-keeper-strap. It was my best purchase because it is reliable, it saved me space on the gig and in the car. Mind you, it's not something you can use for everything but because I use a MB, it worked good for me.

And you? What was your best purchase and why?

I didn't buy any new instruments, but I did buy a Boss GEB-7 EQ, and it makes getting the sound you want much easier.

Also, I had two of my basses repaired and had them professionally set up; my Epiphone Jack Casady, and my Ibanez BTB.

Not new instruments, but after the set up, they seem as though they are.

I'm content.

It's been a good year as I purchased my first Roscoe bass. Then proceeded to buy 3 more lol. Best basses I've owned.

I haven't bought that much bass gear this year, but the two things I bought that I'm really happy with are my Barefaced One10 cabinet and my Ampeg Scrambler overdrive pedal (the OD, not the DI).

Hmm. Don't think I bought any basses.... so:

- Tapewound strings for my P-bass. Wow, that changes things. And of course it has a tort guard.

- Iron Ether Frantabit (finally found one)

To go with the tapewound strings, I've been trying to explore new (to me) synth bass sounds and these are definitely a big part of that.

I love how much it does for me and how easy it is to fiddle with. For all it does I would have gladly paid twice the $200 I paid for it.

I wheeled and dealed for some nice basses this year. The game changer for me was Mackie’s DL32R mixer. Good stuff there.
