Wooten Band - back when he toured with Divinity and all his brothers
Queensryche - Empire (Livecrime) tour

One of the best shows I ever saw - Metallica ...And Justice for All tour

Worst show I've ever seen - An Evening with Metallica (Black Album)

There were members in that band that couldn't pull off live what they did in the studio all the time one day Page would be dead on the next he was like a a novice terrible.

I have about 35 bootleg Albums of them I didn't include them cause I never saw em live.
In most cases the Bootlegs were the board mix or taped some are very good some are very bad but I have heard enough I definitely think JPJ is one of the greats. This would take us to a new thread: "Who is your favorite bassist of all time?" I think it's been done many time before.

-Mike Stern a few years ago with Richard Bona
-Janis Joplin with Big Brother any of the many times I saw them

runners up:
The Funky Meters
Vic Wooten with his brothers and Divinity as mentioned above
Trombone Shorty - surprisingly good band

Ok, these are the top 3 shows I personally saw live:

Rush 1982 (Signals tour). The very first concert I attended. I think you probably know who played bass!

Johnny Winter 1985. He was the OPENING act for George Thorogood. When he was done, I didn't care if I ever heard Thorogood ever again!!! (BTW, I really can't recall who played bass for him then.)

Gov't Mule 2010. Finally, I got to see them after all these years!!! Warren Haynes is amazing! Jorgen Carlsson on bass. They have had played with some really great bass players, "The Deepest End" CD/DVD is a bass wet dream! :bassist:

the best show i've seen, and still one of the top 10 greatest things i've ever done, was The Polyphonic Spree back in 2006. they were never very well known, and what fame they did have is basically gone now. but their shows were more than just great concerts, it was like a religious experience. and not in the cultish sense like the cynics used to say. it was all very innocent and incredibly uplifting. and the bass player, mark pirro, is a first rate dude. he once gave me a huge discount on one of his hand-built "copperphone" microphones that the band had taken on tour.
