to be upfront and honest about it, let me say that Fenders aren't for me - I simply need more tonal variety than they have. If I wanted a Jazz-style bass, I would consider a Dingwall, a Sadowsky or a G & L in that order. All 3 of those brands make classy instruments and they do a good job.
