So, you don't like Fender and you don't even want a jazz style bass. Thanks for letting us jazz fans know.

The highlight this week is an extremely hard to find 1965 Fender Jazz Bass guitar in Burgundy Mist Metallic with matching headstock, and a L series serial number. This is a rare guitar in a rare color and the owner had it disassembled,inspected and photgraphed by an expert to certify that it was 100% completely orginal as delivered from the factory. This widely watched vintage guitar auction on eBay yielded a selling price of $12,999 on January 8, 2009.

Hi, no neck dive as the pivot point is still at the usual 12th fret, the smaller tele headstock helps negate dive n the body weight is still almost like regular J, whole bass is 8lbs, plus I use a wide strap n wear the bass jazz nerd high, so I guess all these factors combine to make it well balanced, better than my standard J. Thnx 4 asking!

I have my paws on a 1969 refin Black but with original painted Black headstock and the sexy Big Blocks.
Non original pickups BUT she sure is real "Purdy".....
Nice!! Gotta post some pics! Love the bound block look. I'm not sure on the year but I keep the photo saved to give me something to strive for!

I should have known. I'm not that attracted to the more recent BMM finishes (too pinky) out there but every time I see a 60's vintage J it's a show-stopper! That colour ages nicely. (a bit of amber) Stunning.

I know this one is uber simple and traditional - 1962 replica out of Fender Japan. I love no covers and no corresponding screw holes. Also really prefer the rosewood with clay dots as opposed to the maple with blocks. Vintage tint neck has been taken down to satin.

I'm sure it's been said by now, but my vote is the Dingwall Super J. It's like looking at a piece of art:
So many of these basses are just stunning! Never actually seen a Dingwall bass before, that super j looks mental but I really like it.
Narrowed down my favourite fenders:
Fender Classic 70's jazz bass
Fender Geddy Lee jazz bass
Fender American Special jazz bass
and the black geddy lee with a black pg. It's a toughie between the am special and am standard, not sure whether i prefer candy apple red or mystic red.
