Best looking jazz bass?

Don't usually like 5 strings, or modern takes on classics, but check this out!

So many unbelievably beautiful basses on here - Fender and otherwise! Thanks to all for posting. I must have looked at them all at least three times!

But to me, there is still something so special about the simplicity and elegance of the original design:

Out of Fender Japan with no screw holes for the covers, just the way I like it.

Just about perfect isn't it!
Although; if I had the chance I'd have a '66 in 3TS with plain headstock, binding, dots and lollipop heads.
But a '62 with reverse heads would probably do just fine! :-)
That one looks like a '60 with stacked pots.
It's funny how people get very particular about their Fender basses!

I started off playing Jazz basses, then didn't have one for a while (G&L's, Precisions, and Music Men intervened). When I picked up this 2002 Fender American Series in trade a couple weeks ago, it had a brown tort guard which was just painful to look at against the chrome red (and I like Tort generally!). Swapped it out with a parchment guard off one of the the Select Jazz basses and I love the way it came out (with and without the covers, which were held on with double sided tape).
