There are many Jazzes out there, some with slightly prettier body shapes (Sadowsky), some with amazing wood facings (Bacchus, for example), but I'd just go for the simple 3TS American Standard with maple fingerboard and tort guard. The current ones with the tinted gloss head and fingerboard are beautifully presented and you can see the alder/ash grain through the newer sunburst (the one since 2008 with no horrid yellow in it.)

This one's pretty hot - 2000 Special Edition Fender Jazz with figured maple front & back, Honeyburst? vintage tinted neck, 60s logo. Have only seen one other like it, and that one lives in Italy.

well, actually it's silver, one of those new style artsie synthetic quartz jobs the wife picked out for the master bath... I didn't catch the gold color with the picture, so I would imagine it reflects off the light in interesting ways.. It's cool, nicely done.

Silly question I know. Just got another nice bass and I'm the kind of guy that keeps them safe in a hardcase when not in use but I use a good quality gig bag when going out. My Luthier says they resist too extreme humidity changes better in a hardcase so.... I have to admit that on a certain level, they ARE sort of works of art. Corny I know but more and more I find myself feeling that way and appreciating the work of the guys that make these even if a run of the mill stock Fender.

I had more in mind like a modified gun cabinet where they would be lighted and it would allow for a small hidden humidifier but they could be easily pulled out for practice or noodling.

Thanks for any ideas.
