Currently using the rowin and not a fan at all. I find the knob too sensitive and inconsistent, it either kills too much noise or hardly any at all. Used decimators aren’t terribly expensive, so might give that a try. I’d love the Darkglass nsg but $200 is a bit steep to kill a hiss.

i havent used the Rowin because ive never heard of them, but keep seeing people reccomend them. Good to know not everyone likes them.
I agree, the DG stuff is legit but way pricey.
theres a clone company - Demon FX - they make a few DG clones that are not too bad at all.
I have their B3K clone/copy for $58 new and its close enough not to spend $300 on a real one
I got that little cheap Rowin NG a while back and just keep it in my bag. It’s a bit of a tone sucker so it’s really an in case of emergency contingency thing. Having a couple of buffers on my board helped with noise more than anything.
I almost just gave the Rowin to a guitar player I played with last week. He had the noisiest rig I’ve heard.

I used to use a Boss N-1. It worked well for me.
But…really…I don’t have a problem right now. And I run stereo with single coil P/U’s
I did have problems a couple of months ago…but I think I found a bad/cheap cable.

If you want the absolute "best", then you probably want the Fortin Zuul. The only downfall is that you have to have both the chain and a dry signal placed into the "key" so that it triggers the gate; at least if you want to maximize the pedal. If you don't want to worry about the routing and just want it at the end of your chain, I definitely like the Darkglass NSG. I have both of these and use them differently.
