I can't think of a gig where these wouldn't work if the rest of the outfit worked.

Dress them up with a black vest and tie for a wedding. Sleeveless or maybe just a "cool" T-shirt" for rock show. Whatever for pop show. Ironic T-shirt (likely a V neck) and scarf for hipster show. White or black pearl snap button down for country show. Yada yada yada.
