Best phaser for bass

Well the big classics with phase shifting bass are "For The Love Of Money" by The O'Jays and "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent.

Anyway, I've been a Small Stone fan since 1975 and owned 4 of them throughout my life. Got a Nano Small Stone a couple years ago and for my tastes, it's the best of the ones I've owned. Color switch puts it over for me. Not using one now, but the color switch is killer for bass, like a rotating wah wah. Liked the Phase 90 too, but the color switch is the shizz.

i've used a vintage Ibanez (Maxon) PT-909 Phase Tone for years. i love it but it's starting to give me trouble. after doing some research i settled on a pre-dunlop Phase 90 to replace it... i havent had a chance to play it yet but from everything i've read it's the perfect phaser for bass.

Have a cigar, parts of shine on you crazy diamond, sheep and empty spaces, all by Pink Floyd. Also young lust sounds pretty good with a phaser. John Entwistle also used what sure sounds like a phaser on Who Are You during the 1989 tour.

Adding a phaser to Police songs also sounds really good IMO.

After switching toggles, twisting 6 knobs, and sifting through 24 different waveforms contained in the Cusack Tap-a-Phase, it could not come remotely close to the tone of the MXR Phase 90, which I bought two days ago. Love the slight volume boost as well, needed in my opinion to keep the effect present in the mix. My phaser search is done!

Edit: Price related to # of times using phase effects was also a factor for me. When I need it, I really need it ... but I don't need it often!

Others have mentioned the Maxon Phase Tone. I recommend the PT-999 version. It nails the Phase 90 sound with less noise, and has a frequency center trimpot inside so you can dial in more subtle, shimmery phase effects (high frequency center) or full-on low-end leslie speaker swoops (lower frequency center).

Well, I'm actually from Mexico. But my mother grew up in Big River. I lived in Saskatoon for two years. You don't see many Saskatchewaneans around here; even if I'm technically not one.
