Best place to buy pedals?

I usually go to eBay first. A lot of the dealers that sell there will take lower prices via "Best Offer" or by asking through email than other stores will.

Surprisingly, this actually works sometimes -- though usually they just whine about how they can't accept your offer because of rapacious eBay fees.

Holy Thread revival! Most of the places in this outdated thread are now out of business.

But I've found that Prymaxe beats the pants off of everybody if they carry what you want. They don't carry everything though, such as Catalinbread.



They always have a coupon code for at least 15% off.

I really hate to say it but even though its "the Walmart of musical instruments" and i really don't like how it crushes small music shops i must admit one of cheapest places for pedals is guitar center's used department. I usually can get mint or near mint condition pedals for less than half their original price from there.

Typically I usually wait for the right coupons from GuitarCenter, Sam Ash, and Musicians Friend depending on how much the pedals cost. Recently though I've been looking at Amazon and they have great prices on MXR pedals. Here are some examples

eBay is going to have the widest selection in terms of variety and price. I buy most of my pedals on there after trying them out at shops.

Prymaxe is awesome. They're one of the best priced places for new pedals. Other than that, you can find some awesome deals here on the TB Classifieds. Craigslist....I'll take a gamble now and then on there.

I get pedals from all the "usual" sources but I often find gems on Craigslist, in pawnshops, at yard sales and community flea markets. Some scores were a 1979 Boss Ce2($10) Tel-Ray Morley Rotating Wah($20) 1980 Rat ($20) Thomas Organ Stereo Fuzz Wah($5) Ibanez SF10($2) Voce Leslie Simulator($40). In all cases the seller had no idea of value. But I don't buy to flip anyway.So I just thank the stars for the luck and enjoy them.

Ebay works for me.

Figure out what you want, then fish for it. Used pedals work same as new, and are cheaper.

All of my recent purchases have been from Guitar Center's used section, new from GC with a coupon, from Prymaxe with a coupon, or from Talk Bass. For the things I was looking for, those were all the cheapest options.
