Double Bass best quality gut strings?

I'm glad the plain A and E work for you guys-I meant no offense. For me, using one bass for everything from Western Swing and Honkytonk to orchestra and chamber music means wound bottom strings.

I hear ya, they are limited in what they work for. Although I know a guy who says he does bow them frequently (KC Swing, he's around here somewhere).

I only have the one Honky Tonk/Rockabilly band at the moment and they like me to slap - which is kinda my speciality so it works out great. :D
