Best rock lyric ever?

I have a challenge for you: define "rock".(That song was certainly played on the "rock" stations)
Now that I think about it, War is one of those undefinable bands, and musical genres are pretty tough to define, so I'm going to say that lyrics from War songs belong in this thread!

I don't want to work
I want to bang on the drum all day

When that song first came out I was convinced that Rundgren had plagiarized a tune my friend Geoff Weil had written a few years earlier

...even though they had almost nothing in common!

But the spirit. Whew!

The chorus — and, come to think of it, the verse also — of Geoff’s tune was

“I DONT WANNA GET NO JOB
THATS BECAUSE WORKING SUCKS”

effing brilliant

Some of the best lyrics from one of the greatest rock songs ever (yeah, I know I'm breaking the rules!):

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
In whatever comes our way

I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder

Fire all of your guns at once and/Explode into space

Ode to Billy Joe

And mama said to me, child, what's happened to your appetite?
I've been cookin' all morning, and you haven't touched a single bite
That nice young preacher, Brother Taylor, dropped by today
Said he'd be pleased to have dinner on Sunday, oh, by the way
He said he saw a girl that looked a lot like you up on Choctaw Ridge
And she and Billy Joe was throwing somethin' off the Tallahatchie Bridge

There's so much going on in that one verse.

Billy Joe killed himself because he and the singer had a baby and threw it off the bridge. And her family knows nothing about it. That's some dark dark stuff, right there.
