1st problem is your asking a question that is very diverse.
Each pickup is actually quite good in its own right, BUT each on also has a tone of its own and works with different neck and body woods. I use a SPB-1 with my ash body and rosewood neck and it sounds great. But with the SPB-3 it's way too boomy. I then put the SPB-3 in my maple neck , alder body and wow nice sounds.....so it just depends on what you use and your taste in music. Just my 2 cents.
I also put the SPB-3 i my PJ bass with a STK-j2b and the sounds together were punchy and smooth and worked well together.
The SPB-2 is middle of the road and not to aggressive and you need to tweek your eq for the tone you want of course.
