Ya, the Acoustic has only one 10", and since there's about as much airspace in it as the Micro VR which has two 10"s, naturally you'll get a deeper low end out of it, but a little EQ brings the Ampeg rig right back into it.Quote:

I don't know...the Acoustic is pretty neato, but I wouldn't say it blows away the Micro VR. I still like the Micro VR better.

I have to agree with Jimmy, I have both the Acoustic 260 and the Micro VR, I initially was blown away by the Acoustic until I tweaked the Ampeg's controls a bit. The Micro VR definitely can be used in a band setting, the little Acoustic not so much.
Gallien Krueger MB115 is a nice practice amp......
Hard to beat one of these for bedroom or practice use;

Of course it will push pretty hard on the $800 budget, but unlike a new transistor amp it should hold it's value, or even increase over the next several years so it's not like you would be losing money.
My vote for "best" goes to a Thunderfunk atop an Aggie GS112.

+1 .. killer. Big fan of that little amp.
from what i hear the acoustic practice amp blows away the ampeg vr setup.
From those that have tried them- the Acoustics are killer, and the B20 especially offers an amazing sound for low cost.
I like the Roland Cubes. The new 120 is nice. Small with some fun effects.
Ampeg Rocket combos. The end.
Solid state, although I believe the B200R has a tube in the preamp. What do they sound like? AmpegAre these tube? Solid state? What is the tone and price like?
