I know of a Black Metal guitarist who was looking for "the sound". He never quite gets there, no matter how much he fiddles with pedals or EQs. Gotta go thinner, more highs!

One day, he sits in his room contemplating his existence, when suddenly he hears the sound he was always looking for coming from the next room.

He goes to look what could possibly produce this record-perfect black metal guitar sound.

It was his mother, vacuuming the bath room.

True story.

Has anyone else stopped to wonder if the "for metal" joke has lost its allure here on TB? It's been so long since it became the mod target du jour, and metal isn't exactly shaking things up the way it barely was back when the joke was nominally funny. It's almost like throwing rocks at a long dead corpse at this point, no?
