Best wah pedal?

The pot pulled out of the wah after about two rehearsals, the paint started chipping off pretty early on, and recently I ended up trading out the crappy little plastic retainer that they provide to hold the gears together for a more substantial one I salvaged out of an old Bass Crybaby because my gears kept slipping. I'm pretty easy on my equipment, definitely not cranking on anything.

If you want the best SOUNDING wah I would point you towards the EBS, but I'd warn against the shoddy construction. For the money you could buy two different wahs that would probably satisfy you nearly as much.

They're kinda pricey too aren't they? I think EBS makes some great stuff. But I too have had issues with the couple things I've owned from them. Shoddy is the word. The patch cables they make now are the best thing I've ever used from them. Just sayin. For $250 brand new, I'd expect it to last quite a while before I had issues like that with it.

Yep, I managed to get mine for $239.00. Lots of places are asking $299. I'd have gone a different direction if I'd known, but at this point I've bought it and I think I've ironed out the problems.

Sonically the thing sounds amazing and I love that it also does volume, but if you watch the Stanley Clarke rig rundown you'll hear him talk about EBS pedals but strangely doesn't have his signature wah in his setup. ;)

Another vote for the Dunlop 105Q. Great pedal, great tone, super reliable. I have been using mine for years. I have been moving away from envelop filters and using it exclusively.
I am looking at adding the new Dunlop Mini wah for those extra small stages!! More seriously I am looking at running two at the same time with different settings, that's how much I love this pedal. I am gigging next week and in all likelihood that's the only pedal I'll take with me.

+1 I have one of these on my board and I really like it. Really retains the low end. I don't use it very much in my current project. Would probably be willing to let it go if you want.

The AMT definitely keeps the bottom end, more than either the 105Q or the Weeping Demon (well, the Demon can be dialed oin to have a lot of bottom, but for me that let to it distorting at parts of the sweep). Perhaps better to say it keeps the bottom, and keeps an even response throughout the sweep.

I picked up a hotone soul press to mostly use as a volume but I'm surprised with the wah function. It's probably not the best bass wah ever but it sounds pretty good and sounds like it doesn't effect the low end. Maybe it has a filter or some sort of blend built in. Also the Dunlop mini will not be out till August but when mine gets here I'll post a review.

I keep forgetting that I have one of these. Need to get around to using it, or probably selling. I seldom use a wah currently, but if I do the Ibanez Weeping Demon gets my vote for "best" overall though I normally use the Dunlop 105Q just because it's an easier carry.

The Quake Machine MkII is very cool. I get lost in the options. Capable of some devastatingly powerful low-end sweeps if you set it that way. Would really be something to hear that cranked through a huge PA.
