I don't know if it's just a Youngstown area thing, but among the many musicians I know, they'll stab each other in the back, quit if they can't have their way, literally destroy a band...

and next thing you know they're working together again like it never happened, or ya run into them and they're all buddy buddy.

It's like bridges are impervious to burning 'round here. :D

Maybe it's the right attitude, I dunno. :)

Well at least he is not touchy like here in ABQ where the result would be a 10-54 from a GSW. 8 stitches is a lot. That's like knife slash territory. Regular punches or blunt object won't do that. He should be sued for assault or something you would call your cousins for. Is this a cool story bro by any chance?

And he got the guitarist to follow suit. When I realized what was going on I bailed ship. Needless to say, shortly after I was gone, singer got a hard on for the guitarist again. There was a major disruption at a practice, the singer rage quit and put 8 stitches in the bass players head.

Now the drummer who I was always cool with is hinting I should come back. He says the guitarist is beside himself with how stupid he was.

So I'm conflicted. I had a lot of fun with these guys, they have great gear and connections and the guitarist taught me a lot in the time we were together. At the same time it feels like getting back together with someone that cheated on you. Can it ever be the same? Or am I being too trivial?

Typical band politics.

Keep a level head, stick with it, and do not be afraid.

I was betrayed, and I ended up quitting the Bass, for over 31-years.

Please don't do what I did.

Wait, these are supposedly 'grown adults', and there was an in incident that required stitches? Ain't nobody got time for that.

Do you have other opportunities? If not, and if you feel like the music is worth it, I'd give it another shot. I'd be wary. I'd only show as much loyalty to them as they showed to me; so if something better came along, I wouldn't feel bad about leaving. But you don't have to miss out on something you'd really enjoy in some attempt to pay these guys back for what they did to you.

HELL NO. STEER CLEAR OF THOSE BLOKES. THEY HAVE ALREADY DEMONSTRATED THAT THEY WILL THROW YOU UNDER THE BUS IF GIVEN THE CHANCE. It's better to find people with integrity if you can. Good luck.

The bass player was actually hit with a mic stand when the singer charged across the room to deck him and tripped over a mic cord.

yeah…..
