It still amazes me how a 300.00 Kustom kxb500 solid state micro through a MAS4x6 sounds so huge and full. Just sayin

I was most impressed with the little Kustom head through the Flex -- made it sound like a more expensive amp! Mids were great and growly and it hit much harder than I'd expected.
So I can't find this information anywhere and I can't figure it out on my own: what does the 3-way switch on the 66 do? 
Not new, but awful pretty and functional...

I think the 46/66 typically come with a two-way switch for normal/hot mids. I had Mike add a second switch to my 46 that turns the tweeter on/off. He's wired up cabs with different options before, though, based on customer requests (my 112 and 46 both have switching options that I asked for), so hit him up if you have something particular in mind.

On that gig we like to think of electrocuting singers as a feature, not a bug.That extension cord arrangement seems totally safe to me.

34#. Easy schlep. Since I typically gig an H1203 (the TC only gets used when I need a second cab), Mike added a low-pass option to run the MAS109 as a "subwoofer" with the H1203. I haven't tested that yet - probably later today. Have gigs Tue/Wed/Fri next week, all different rooms.
I love the form factor. I'm a big fan of tall cabs that aren't too deep. I could imagine a pair of these stacked vertically would be an awesome big gig setup.
Also for reference, here's what the D-800 sounds like with a single H1203 (some direct mixed into the recording) and the Smith fretted. Gig on Wed. I'm pushing it into breakup (and also was a tad hot into the Zoom H6). Caravan and Sahara are interesting (with plenty of distortion - on purpose)

Steubig came over and we did some A/B/C with cabs and amps. Bottom line is the MAS109 does exactly what I was hoping it would. Paired with the H1203 it is pretty sick. The 10" mates with the 12" quite nicely - they have different voices. We found that stacking the H1203 upside down seemed to be the hot ticket, and changing the mid switch on the MAS109 and the mid/hi switches on the H1203 gave it different character. The fretless Smith shines through any of it, the fretted is a bit more picky. The proof will be in the pudding on gigs next week, but I'll likely try the MAS109 on its own for at least 2 of the 3 shows since they are small rooms.

Cool. The 109 is a bit smaller than I thought. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts as to the tone and presentation of the two cabs, (more played solo, but combined, too) but will be patient until you've had a chance to gig them.

ok, so first gig with the MAS109 tonight (just that alone). This is probably the worst room I play regularly. It is a jazz jam where I'm the house bassist, held in a church. The room is boomy with a capital BOOM. I've been doing this gig for years and never have been able to get a good bass sound. Well, until tonight. One good thing about the gig is that other bass players sit in so I can be out in the room and hear how things are going. Tonight was one other regular guy with a very nice Adamovik 5-string. I was running the Mesa D-800 in.
I frankly was shocked at how well the cab worked. Head was dead flat - I didn't need to try and eq anything. No bass bloat or boom. As much as I love my Duke cabs, they were challenged by this room, as were my Berg and Baers.
Tomorrow night is a different club doing music behind/with some live actors, then Fri is a yacht club gig. Will have more thoughts, but tonight frankly blew me away.

Planning on a MAS109 to partner with my MA109 when I need to hit some kind of massive stage! Or the infrequent rock jam

Three Clubs in Hollywood - a combined theater/music thing. I can say I was incredibly happy with the bass sound. We played before the actors, then between scenes, and a few times vamped underneath dialogue. I could always hear what I was doing, and it felt nice a full. To be fair I was running into FOH but according to the sound guy he had me very little in, and mostly just a slight cut in the low mids. So far I'm impressed with this cab. Fri it's on to the yacht club gig...

But srsly, there's some magic in these cabs, for sure. There was a thread kicking around a week or so ago, about _3D_ bass tone. That's my sense of what these things do. The sound doesn't seem to come from the cab so much as it's _in the room_, big and full. (Hmn, that sounds kinda Zen, in a way...)

yeah, D-800 is a good pairing. Puma 500 is a bit more open sounding, the Mesa is a bit fatter and can get more edge to the note.
Stunned. At least I've heard of the "Matchless" brand, but the Schroeder is new to me. Very cool visual vibe!
