Here's the crossover in Ken's cab. Pretty difficult. Was able to get 1/8" aluminum (which is overkill but the price was right) for heat sinking the resistors. Non-inductive resistors, by the way.
Ken's and Harold's 110's are built.Waiting a few days for the switchplates. (the first ones weren't to my standards--switching to laser-etched).

The 210 cabs are done. Steve was just over with the xover plans. Should have them done in a few days.

The cool thing for me was the ability to use lower crossover points than one usually sees in bass cabs. I've NEVER liked passive crossovers at low xover points. I could always hear a compromise in the low end impact. That huge toroidal coil is a real game changer. I couldn't hear any compromise between the passive xover and a very good active one. The parts cost on this is a bit over the top but sonically I feel it's worth it.

Now that's a killer crossover! Thanks for posting Mike. Can't wait to try it.

Hey Mike, anxious to hear your thoughts on the 210. From Tom's earlier posts it sounded like the end result turned out a little different than expected. After hearing some clips of a fearless 210, I would have to think that the flex 210 will be an animal!

Here's a clip of my red 85 live in an outdoor venue with a Markbass F500 & 71 Jazz Bass with original pickups.
The rig is hiding behind the drum kit but the sound certainly did not hide!

Nice playing. Very articulate sound -- nothing flubby about it.

Side note: A little bit of harmonic support from the mates during the bass solo (just a little!) would be nice. At least I know I appreciate it -- when I can get it! Still, nicely done all around.

With impeccable timing, I caught up with Mike late yesterday afternoon when he was between takes. It occurred to me that he has invented an exquisite form of self-torture. He was saying the 210 flex sounds so phenomenally good, that he's going to have to be bringing one to his gigs. Torturous, I say!

Mike, is this true? I only heard the 110 Flex, and it's hard to imagine topping that. What happened to the minimalist approach?;)

Hi all
A bit out of the loop this week. On a reasonably high profile recording in N.Y. this week. I'll be back on Sunday. The110's are done and the 210's will be done this week. I've been waiting on the switch plates and they should be there today. I'll take pics as soon as I get back. I hate typing on my phone.

Congrats on the gig Mike. Really looking forward to the 45-110 stack, you continue to amaze us all with your innovation!

So after I attain worldwide fame and great riches I will commission Mike to build one of his 15" based flex cabs in Lucite.........

Just a quick update we had some minor wiring issues with the 210Flex. We are working in the BigE lab with the second 210 Mike brought us and seems we have it mostly ironed out.

Just a side note anyone standing in front of this cab at 1000 watts is probably crazy. I had to for research but no more for me thanks.
