Big E speakers: Pt 2

there's a chance of combover Trump filtering, which can cause the transverse fertlebinder to create out-of-phase longtitudinal waves over the entire conjunct reflective Tardis zone. There's no way this speaker could sound good! :D
Naw! You just have to be careful which Monique version you use with it. No Tardis for you, says the Monique Nazi! You are NOT going to spoil the rollout of that awesome-looking cab by using an incompatible preamp/amp combination.

Actually---a little known fact---the Bohr/Einstein debates were actually discussing the merits of Vortex technology in regards to the practical applications for the amplification of the electric bass.

Too true. I think more people might be hip to this fact if one of the parties in the debate hadn't singlehandedly turned the whole affair into a complete bohr. :hiding:

So anyway.......what does this 2x10 sound like? I'm guessing clean, even and responsive without the harsh upper mid of the fearful.
To be fair, my understanding is that the True 3-way crossover for the fEARful cabs has smoothed out that harshness. I've no experience of either to speak of, but am planning such a build.

Would also love to experience one of these Flex210 cabs some day. They sure look impressive! :-)

I soon will be crushing with a 21O flex, Monique/Minnie
combo with the 33" Erizias. I have also upgraded the pickups
to Reed James Neo's and they are my Ideal pickups...
Soon there maybe nowhere higher end to go? :D

The point of the flex design is it has many different voicing options. Flat - hifi - mid forward/ aggressive - bright - dark. Lots of options, unlike any other cab on the market.

Ok... but the 'flat' position would be a good place to start, assuming that would be the delivered voice if it had not the switch options. What is that character, universe like? And how does that compare to the earlier E you had...

That's how Mike is shipping it in the default voice. I should have it by Friday and will post up my initial impressions this weekend.

No harshness in the mids/highs of Mike's Flex speakers. I had no experience with Faital or Ciare drivers previous to hearing my 110 Flex. I can't string enough descriptive words and phrases together to begin to relate how smooth, clear, and beautiful they sound working together in this cabinet. The MVW design is not affected as much by room nodes (that cause peaks) than conventional cabinets, which makes it respond more evenly.
