I have some youtube videos up from the RMAF, you can hear a bit of the Event Horizons. I don't know if it would violate tos, so I'm not going to post a link.
It was a really good time. Duke and Lori are great people. All of you guys buying 210's from Mike are getting a bargain. I'd charge a whole lot more for that cab. That's why I made Sam build it. Plus he's better than I am, which really pisses me off.
It's complex, and the wiring even more so.

Just wanted to show a picture of the MAS 210's snooty high-end audio brother. With a little luck, I hope to wreak as much havoc on the home audio world as Mike has been inflicting here.
Wish I could have been there - I would love to have heard this setup! I wish you luck in your endeavors with the audiophile crowd. Certainly could be the potential for some good income there.
Just curious to know if anybody has tried the MAS45 in a studio monitor or home theater role? I don't need to go anywhere near as loud as what you have there with the MAS210 in my little home studio but 2 of the 45's would probably be fun.

The GC25HA is one of Leland Crooks' home theater models with 2-5" drivers and a tweeter.
On the subject of my new favorite speaker (110 Flex), I practiced this past Tuesday with my Dingwall Super J/P-4 (soloing the P) plugged in to the bright channel of the Reeves and the 110 Flex set to 'most aggressive'. This Dingwall has a naturally bright nature and is strung with fairly fresh DR Sunbeams. The high end wasn't harsh, but to my tastes, too much. I like playing in active mode with the Glock pre set flat, but had to pull up the volume knob and go passive. This morning I plugged into the normal channel on the Reeves and switched off the tweeter. With the same bass once again in active mode, it was just what the tone-doctor ordered. This cab makes me dance with delight.
The MAS45 makes a PHENOMINAL home stereo speaker. I'm a bit of an audiophile. I have a pair of $10,000 electrostatics.
I ran two 45's with a very nice 60 watt/channel stereo amp. The 45's had the best stereo image I've ever heard. And were as dynamic as I've ever heard. Bass that hits you in the chest.
While the electrosats were a small margin better in terms of perfect tonal balance (I would hope so!) the sense of involvement had to go to the 45's. You just wanted to keep playing music on them.
There are a few guys that have two 45's and are using them double duty.
The GC25's (as used for home stereo) are essentially the same as the 45's (well the 45 is like two 25's). The 45's are two inches wider (longer vortex and bigger driver chamber) so there's a little more low end power and extension.
Fellow TB'er Radbass heard the stereo setup with the 45's. For home stereo they sound better with the Vifa soft domes---for PA use the Ciares are a better choice.

Mike set up two 4x5's in his living room playing music from his phone. As impressed as I've been playing bass through them, the recorded music just blew me away. Besides being accurate without sounding at all harsh, the imaging was amazing. It seemed like you could reach out and touch the instruments. It felt like you could listen to them for hours, unlike many "impressive" speakers that fatigue you after a few minutes. They made my B&W's seem like I left them in the shipping boxes.

The GC25ha is a model specifically designed for home audio. Better mids and top end. Different drivers, ruler flat response. Less efficiency, but higher low end output. They're strong to 40. I only heard 2 cabs that could compete with them at rmaf. One of those was Dukes. The others were 15k Altec updates.
I knew there was something I was forgetting to talk to you about pertaining to the 45 Mike, and it was exactly this; can they be used for audiophile level home audio and/or studio monitoring as well as on stage for bass? Sounds like the answer is most definitely yes.
I sense another 45 may be in my future. If they nearly equaled (or in some ways bettered) your electrostatics and blew away rad's B&W's, and their 2x5 cousins were nearly best in show at RMAF, then they might just replace my high end 100lb studio monitors too! Of course, I can't do an A/B comparison until I have a pair of 45's...
That is all pretty high praise, and the ability to compare them to everything at RMAF says a lot. That place is absolutely packed with all the latest and greatest from the highest end purveyors of audiophile gadgetry.

I've got them attached to the wall with PA mounts about 3 ft off the ground. Mids and highs are extremely good, bass needs some boost now that they're off the floor. They take added bass EQ very well, but I'm still dialing in the right frequencies and amount.
So, since we've got most of the MVW brains on this thread--what EQ would you suggest to get the best response out of a pair of 45s that are wall mounted 3 ft off the ground? I've got a powerful, high-quality EQ in my chain, so I should be able to make any adjustments you think are beneficial.

I can't answer because I don't really know what kind of smoothing was done with the crossover. Mikes cabs are different than mine. On the pa cabs you pull 200-300 down a couple of db, play around with 6k to 8k, depending on taste. With the HA cab you do nothing.

What! No way!
So today at rehearsal I put the 45 right on top of the sub and angled it up just a tad. I thought I'd give it a try even though during my own practicing it was too "thick" for my tonal goals, I liked it up on the stick better. Anyways, it was absolutely killing in the mix! I also ran the eq different, I've been notching out about 350hz because it cleans it up and lets the highs out better. Today I ran it flat with just a little on board bass boost and it was amazing. I finally get what mike is talking about when he says RNB players love these things. Those low mids are special in these cabs, I felt and heard clarity in the low end like no other. When I play by myself it seems like the low mids would be a trouble maker, but then for some reason, when your playing in the mix, they help you hear yourself better, strange. I knew I was onto something when the horn players came up to me and asked what I did different today and if I turned up because they could hear me a lot better now, but all did was put the cab down, and not mess with the mids. The sound pounds you in the chest and those low lines just pop right out. So I've found my two sounds for this setup, my full loud rock band sound (cabs on top of each other, with just a touch bass boost) and my pretty solo sound (which is up on a stick, crossover on top, -2db, cut around 350hz, boost highs, absolutely beautiful crystal highs with that setup)

You're welcome Leland. Okay, I may have exaggerated a tad, but after experiencing the power and clarity of the 110 Flex, I can imagine the impact that pair would have! My favorite part of reading about the RMA show were the after-hours high volume experiences...
