Thanks for going back and checking it out- it's easily my favorite of the Dio Sabbath songs.
But that's part of the beauty of music- one man's passion is another man's poison lol

I’ll never understand why in music topics people have to be competitive. This is better, that sucks, etc.

Early Sabbath sounded very different from Dio-era Sabbath, but musically “Technical Ecstasy” and “Never Say Die” era Sabbath sound pretty similar to Dio-era Sabbath. The riffs are still heavy as lead, but they’ve also evolved.

I love Ozzy era Sabbath. I love Dio era Sabbath. I love Bill Ward’s playing. I love Appice’s playing. Dio’s vocal work is incredible. Ozzy’s vocal work was incredible. It’s all Sabbath.

I’m reminded of an old saw that goes something like “jokes are like cats, if you take them apart to see how they work, they stop working.” Sabbath can be like that too, just listen and enjoy it.

Also - “hair metal”???? Wtaf…??!?

Saw Black Sabbath back in 1978 and this year too. Geezer Butler has always been one of my favorite bass players. I have always tried to copy his sound. Anyone else here a big Geezer fan?

Yes I am! Geezer is one of my biggest bass influences! "Bassically / NIB" is my go-to song when I test out basses at music stores!

He's even on my Metal Bass Mount Rushmore (along with Lemmy, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, and Frank Bello).

I wish I could have seen him, Ozzy (RIP), Tony, and Bill at Back to the Beginning in person. I had to watch the concert footage on YouTube like a peasant.

My year in music school was very stressful due to some life events and personal issues.
I ended up hating music, it was hearing Black Sabbath and The Velvet Underground that got me back in the game!

Beyond his bass playing, Geezer is responsible for so much of Sabbath’s overall sound, concept, and direction - and such a unique bass tone.
