Which Sovtek did you try? One of the 90's (ish) Green ones? or the newer black one?

Everyone just loves the muff. It's a beautiful thing.
I tried the newer black Sovtek. I read that the quality control during production of the green ones was very laxed and the sound from pedal to pedal could be "tonal nirvana" to just as crappy if not crappier (?) than the black one out today. Never played a green one, but they are all over ebay. I don't feel comfortable chancing it, but I would love to hear one.
Regardless, the NYC Big Muff is friggin ridiculous. It'll do just fine
