Biking '10 part 2

I was doing a u-turn so very slow speed and my wheel caught in a pot hole, kind of a crack, I didn't see, bike went immediately on it's side, me following, left elbow took the hit, then it made me roll on my back, bike on top of me right foot still clipped in. Unluckily and luckily the bike has nothing (if only a shifter would of broke, I'd be a happy man) ok, I'm kidding I meant luckily and luckily.

The result is just some "intern bleeding" spot on the elbow and a hit to my ego as someone saw this happening (I left sprinting before he could see who I was, phewwwwww).

I do not consider this a crash, hence me saying a "fell off the bike". :p

edit: feel free to laugh at me, I deserve it :)

if a man is up t'bein laughed at, then good- he's OK :D

On the skip-link- I snagged it at a UC Davis Police auction a good 20 years ago & ONLY got it together tonight. I hit the chain w/Naval jelly 3x before slappin it on & riding it- it was iffy but this is the Rat Rod. I wanna put achopper fork & drag bars on 'er at some point. Still draggin ace on px- sry

Yeah, I know what drag bars are...if/when I build/get a chopper bike, it'll have those bars.

- editing to ask if you know what an Electra Straight 8 is...that's what I want, w/drag bars.

My wife and I have Electra Townies for cruising around on the bike paths. I want a Rat Fink bad.

There is a thread about Electras over on ratrodbikes.com that I saw this bike in - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

That's what I want to do some day...

Yeah, nice.

I'll be buying a Specialized hardrock Pro Disc today or tomorrow, local shop clearing their last few bikes at cost price, I tried it today seemed good, and I don't know if I'll love it so it seems like a good starting point.

I can personally say that the Dart3 is probably the single worst bike component I've ever owned.

IMO - the best entry level geared MTB is the Trek/GF Cobia. Can be had < 1k at the right shop.
