Biking '10 part 2

Lose those risers & I'm just about there.

Actually, pretty similar to that bike overall but adding small touches like...

- a vista-light or similar blinky off of the left-side dropout, and maybe one of the small 'license plates' w/your name on it

- a belt-drive 3-speed disc rear hub

- it'd be interesting to try to put a springer fork on, but that may be too much stress on the headtube joins

what a nice piece of sculpture to lug around... My idea is that it's worthless where I live - I need a second home in a nice warm, flat beach town ... mount a tiki shaped headlamp out front to light the way home from the bars.

yesterday 42 miles, 3800 feet of climbing ... a couple of 8 % spots. We averaged 13 in a little over 3 hours. My knees are feelin' it today ... What goes up ... I saw 38.5 on the cateye a couple of times. Some tandem riders were touching 41 - this on a curvy mountain descent. There were some wet patches and some marbles in some of the corners so I was riding somewhat conservsatively. If it was all dry and clean - you could seriously fly ...

Finished converting an old friend's old MTB into a SS; scored $50+2 bottles of wine. Win/win. :hyper:
I may start doing a Tuesday night uphill time trial, up Mix canyon road- that's the one I've been told has the steepest 2-3 mile stretch(@ the top of a 6.5 mile climb- I'll see if I can get the elevation)in Nor Cal at 13-15% & allegedly hitting 23 at one point.
