I haven't heard of the Winery Dogs. I'm a big fan of Billy Sheehan. I read an interview once, when I was trying to decide to jump into 5 string territory, where someone asked him why he didn't play 5 string. His reply was basically that he had so much to learn on a 4 string. I never did make the leap into 5 string, mostly because of that statement. Also, I haven't played in a group that really needed a 5 string. If I find myself in need of a 5, I will make the jump.
There are a lot of diseases we haven't heard of before that were created by the poison in the food we eat. And a lot more cancer as well. Cancer used to be very rare in Japan till the fast food companies made inroads there. Hell, 80% of the food you find at stores didn't even exist 100 years ago. It's all crap.Funny how we never heard of this disease years ago. Maybe the previous poster is right, modern pesticides etc... may have just brought this on.
Billy has corkscrew finger and bottle tilt wrist, but not ADD. Billy was born when curious over active kids were cured simply by playing outside with their friends, not drugs dispensed by lazy parents and doctors who pander to their granola chomping clients.
Drugs don't turn dopey kids into smart ones.
You can eat organic and quit letting your kids have all the ice cream and sodas that they want.We are not talking about stupid children, we are talking about kids who may have ADD. Just because it's overused as a diagnosis doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And really, if it's brought on by chemicals and stuff, what does that mean? Not like you are going to stop it.

That fact that ADD's only been medically accepted as a diagnosis for 3 or 4 decades doesn't tell you anything? Really? There is no one in my family who has ADD. I had stated that earlier. Soda and ice cream have been around for decades though, so your theory needs a little refinement.![]()

And I was speaking in the royal "you," not you personally. I thought that was abundantly clear.

Let's assume you're right and it does exist. OK, so do we cure it by taking the kid off the sugary pesticide covered food, or do we dope him up with ritalin?
It's among thousands of other things that have come about in the last 3 to 4 decades. It tells me medical science has advanced.

The fact that it took this long for someone to shave this problem with Ockham's razor suggests to me that a decent chunk of TBers should consider medication.![]()
