Jade, that's a great story! My cortobass is also cherry. I think it's a little bit lighter than the typical mahogany, but still very well balanced. You will enjoy it!

I gotta tell you: I even love the way my Corto feels and smells. I will be standing in front of my class at school, and once in a while, just gotta smell the wood. The scent is fading, but the Corto is a feast for ALL the senses... (well, I have not tasted it yet...)

What tone does the cherry have? Scott has said that it seems to have bigger lows, fewer mids, and brighter highs. Is that the case with your Cortobass? I hope it has that growlly rock tone that the Mahogany seems to have.
One more week until I get my bass... I can't wait!

Here is my new piccoli bass from Birdsong. WoW!
Got the bass today....It's a definate KEEPER!! I have been playing Carvins for years,but this Birdsong will be my MAIN AX from now on. IT IS NICE. Scott does GREAT WORK!!!
