Sounds like plugging into an old stereo aux jack and nearly blowing the input by overloading it. Have no use for this.

Maybe the ones I've heard haven't been set right. No, that's a different sound. We're talking about Bit Crushers.![]()
You clearly have a think for IE pedals! Which is great.
But I would say rather than adding a bit crusher, add another super synthy fuzz.
And I do love what Bit Crushers can do. I just have trouble using them well in band settings. Kinda like ring mods.
A good phase pedal will help your fuzz go super synthy!
Ring mod is similar to sample rate reduction, one of two main aspects of 'bitcrusher' effects (SRR, and bit depth which sounds like weird dirt). The electronics of ring mod and sampleratereduction are different, but end result similarI'd have one if I had found the right one- for fun, rather than out of needing one.
May get one quite soon.
Does a ring-mod not do basically do the bit crusher thing?

Thanks for clearing that up. My ring modulator can remain as reserve micstand levelling device and I will invest in a piece of 4x2 in case I need a doorstop, rather than a bitcrusher proper.Ring mod is similar to sample rate reduction, one of two main aspects of 'bitcrusher' effects (SRR, and bit depth which sounds like weird dirt). Clearly, the answer is a synthy fuzz, a ring mod, AND a bit crusher![]()
CT5/Context/Particle/etc.You forgot glitch!CT5/Context/Particle/etc.
Ok, so, bare minimum would be as follows then:
Moog MF-102 Ring > Fairfield Randy's Revenge > Red Panda Particle, Red Panda Context > Raster >H9 > CT5 > H9 ?
Right. That should be it for the basic blues/rock/cover board.
