BL just fired the drummer

Stoves burn, reliably so. That's not conjecture because it's been well demonstrated and there really aren't any plausible alternative outcomes. The BL's reasons in this drummer situation aren't known for sure by anybody here, and without knowing all of the facts there are multiple plausible explanations. So yes, your explanation, though very plausible and consistent with the few facts we do know, is conjecture. I won't be at all surprised if your explanation is confirmed to be right, but I also won't be surprised if it turns out to be a "me too" scenario.
Will someone please paraphrase what is going on here? All I see is a BL giving the bassist a BS reason for firing a drummer that sucks in the first place. What is the actual "reason" from the BL? What is this rumor that she heard about the drummer? Did I miss it? Or is this seriously nine pages of nothing?
I didn't conclude Drugs or Alcohol abuse at all. I assumed it was something pretty shady...
But without knowing the BL it's hard to say
But when given an opportunity to do it, she said that they need to keep their replacement drummer. That's evidence. Now something big has turned up with the drummer and the torches and pitchforks want to assume that the evil bandleader is making up something. So funny.
No, you didn't miss it. The BL just relayed a bunch of rumors and offered nothing else. Malicious hints that the drummer is a horrible person and needs to be canned. The way it's presented here sounds to me like the kind of gaslighting I've seen before (there were signs in rehearsal, blah blah blah, when no one else noticed anything unusual). And then, strangely by coincidence, the previous drummer is available to step in and save the day!
So yes, it's nine pages of nothing. There's no additional reason or evidence being presented by the BL to back up her claim, but the drummer is out and the new, previously fired drummer is back in. Tie it up with a bow

If she can sing it'd be worth drama. Our search for someone who can sing well is in its 9th year.

Yeah, it may not be that at all, but the BL is being secretive and I'll bet the other band members are wondering the same thing. She would do well to air her reasons and put this to rest.
That's evidence that the other drummer wasn't ready to agree to step in yet.

No the BL hasn't spilled the beans yet. But my spidey senses are telling me that the fired drummer was in incriminating photos with duck. Ergo komprimat.

I would like to apologize to the group. I thought I was posting on TalkBass.com but it seems like I have accidentally posted on ConspiracyTheoriesRUs.com ;-)
Okay let me explain....yet again. The previous drummer was let go because work conflicted with rehearsals and gigs. It's hard to be in a band if you can't show up. Months later he asked to rejoin the group when his work schedule changed but we were already gigging with the new drummer. The BL felt it was unfair to the new drummer and we had already settled in with him. Well the old drummer was upset and kind of pissed off the BL.
Then recently The BL found out something about the new drummer and had to let him go. The BL called me to let me know she was replacing him, but would not tell me why for fear of damaging the drummer's reputation. The BL called me and the rest of the group individually as a courtesy to keep us in the loop of what is going on. That way we would not show up at rehearsal and "Where's Steve?!" "Oh BTW this is our new drummer, Rick, that will be playing with us from now on."
It is the BL's band so there is no reason to make up vicious lies about the new drummer. If the BL does not like the BL for any reason then the BL can let him go. It is an "At Will" band. Again, we all liked the new drummer, got along with him and thought that he played well, though he had a tendency sometimes to rush and overplay a few songs.
I do not know why the drummer got fired. I figure that one of these days I will find out. BTW, how many of you have marched into your bosses office, slammed the door behind you, jabbed a finger in your bosses face and said, "I demand to know why you fired Chuck!"
So the band was without a drummer. The BL cancelled rehearsals. The BL really did not want to cancel upcoming gigs so humbly called the old drummer to see if he would be interested to play. Remember, they were a little bit at odds with each other. The old drummer very enthusiastic about rejoining the band and apologized profusely for his behavior when he got let go. So he is back in the band.
So you see kids, no conspiracy or mischievous or devious behavior. The BL was trying to do what was best for the band.
