Blisters!

ARG Blisters SUCK! I have one on my right index finger - hurts like crazy. On a whim I noticed a drug store across from the venue tonight where I was playing and I got this stuff...it's like a self adhesive bandage that's easily rip-able. so I put this on and it got me through a 2 hour gig.

although now I have a blister on my middle finger too . . .:crying: guess i'll have this stuff on 2 fingers for my gig Sat.

anyone ever try this stuff? or have better solutions?

My dad like Krazy Glue, but he plays banjo, and he puts it on his nails.

Speaking of blisters, I took up crew (sculling) and my hands are covered. I couldn't slap for a week because I had a huge one on my thumb. Sorry, just needed to complain.

I tried the super glue thing for the first time last night. It worked like a charm.

I actually applied it as a preventative. I didn't have any full blown blisters yet, but I could feel them coming.

I'd unfortunately taken a break from playing and lost my callouses. Then I jumped back in just a couple weeks before a gig AND took up double bass.

We squeezed in a practice the night before the gig and afterwords I knew I wasn't making it through the show without bloody fingers.

After reading the advice here, I coated the tips of my fingers with a little super glue and voila! instant callous.

Made it through the show without a single blister. Tender fingers yes, but blisters no. Which is really important because there's more practice today and another show next weekend!

yeah i've got a huge blister on my index finger. it was a blood blister that popped and it was there because of excessive slapping and popping. I swapped to my middle finger and that one developed one to!
jesus, i'm gonna keep swapping fingers until i have blood blisters on every finger!! i might try that super glue...

THIS is the situation when being able to play a gig with a pick/plectrum is VERY useful! (Thats what I like to do when my blisters become sore or burst - how many times have ya all shouted "F###ING BLISTER JUICE!" after a song from seeing the drops on the strings and the skin flapping around on your fingers?)

I remember a couple months ago they grew back as caluses, only to become frayed and start coming off...actually cut them off in the end and had plasters on for the next gig a week later!
