I too have had many blue basses over the years (Does anyone else remember when the ONLY blue bass you could get was a Rick with checkerboard binding?) - But this posts make me curious: How happy are you with the Gibson? I've been interested in them, just on principle (I've only had one gibson, and that was LONG ago). So how nice is it? What would you compare it to? And can you get it without the silly dollar sign?

Behold . . . my used, new to me . . . Washburn XB928 USA Custom Shop 8 String Octave Bass!!!! Flame maple with birdseye maple fretboard and matching headstock. Snagged it for $400.
