I don't see what the fuss is about. It's not that great. Just a big muff variation.
Sonny is a great guy, but he takes awhile to get back to you from my experience. The GGG tuned big muff is the same thing.
Yeah, seriously, the Bluebeard is just a GGG Muff. I really don't get the hype on this thing at all. Anyone with even a very slight competence with a soldering iron can make one. I made a BYOC kit on my first time ever picking up a soldering iron, and it worked perfectly.
Evidence. On both sides actually. I'd like to hear both sides since all I know is the hype of the pedal. Not the actual circuit.
read the threads, threads say its similar apart from a few resistors but so are all the other muffs. a few resistors can make a pretty big difference to the sound.
On a topic that isn't discussed every week, it's not appropiate to yell "search". I do know the difference in sound resistors make so don't worry about that.

Sonny used to work for them, they link to his e-mail and/or myspace, they get used and new Bluebeards in for sale on occasion, AND I sold them my Bluebeard (#304) this past Monday. Based on what they were saying, they go fast and they can't keep up with the demand.
It's about the mystique of the unknown and/or unattainable - if Sonny was easy to contact and the pedal was easy to come by, the allure would be less. It's an very cool pedal - whether or not it's easy to copy with a GGG muff kit.

Somewhat on topic and somewhat off. Grygrx, I remember sometime ago you rehoused your S&S. Will you post a picture of that again?
I thought only one resistor was different and that it was the one connected to the LED which has no effect on the sound? IIRC there was a thread where Karate Kid compared all the resistor values somewhere.

Edit: If this bluebeard pedal is too hard to aquire, il probably look into the El Grande bass fuzz. Troy Sanders from mastodon has both these pedals...if only i knew which one he recorded blood mountain with. They both sound good....
