Tearing the amp section out of my Fender BXR200 and destroying it due to intermittant cutouts and afterwards come to find out I had a couple of bad guitar cables!!

Ouch! That hurts. But then again something that I could see my self doing.

Buying 7 or 8 cheap basses that come to about 3 grand. I should of bought one dealt with it then bought a Sadowsky.

I sold a Gibson Victory with a set of consecutively numbered fretted and fretless necks for peanuts. Yes, it was heavy as hell, but it sounded great and looked nice to boot. I'd give just about anything to have that back.

I sold my 21st birthday present, a Warwick (German made) Streamer Std. 5 string with 2 pups... it was quiet and didn't slap all that well but man that thing had a good tone. The only bass I regret selling, I still try to find one exactly like it and never can

I've been good w/ bass gear, but . . .

I paid a luthier to install a Floyd Rose on my Les Paul. He told me not to, but I insisted. He did a good job, but he was right. If I really needed a Floyd, I should've just got an Ibanez or a Strat instead of ruining a nice Gibson.

Just today, I noticed a set of EMG J pickups selling for 39.99 CDN. I asked my friend who worked there and he told me it was a misprint, and that I should probably buy them. Instead, I didn't, for some inexplicable reason. He later fixed the price. I could have made a bit of profit on those...

As for me...I paid over $250 CAD for a set of Seymour Duncan pickups (hot for P and hot for J). I later saw the price significantly lower on Warmoth..."significant" being an understatement. A vast understatement.

Because metal Gods don't use Bigsbys! As with any serious mod, I was not worried about resale value, only my own use. I still own it, but have lent it to a friend indefinitely. My favorite guitar now is a telecaster, so I got over my whammy obsession, but I'm looking at a strat copy w/ a floyd right now.

Bonehead moves? Of course I was so much younger then... that day in 1967 when I brought a '62 Pbass home and promptly sanded the nitro sunburst finish off. Gone. All that mojo gone in favour of a nice thick coat of varnish! Arrrrgh. I still cringe.

I used to work at a music store and due to lack of money I had to pass up on alot of other peoples bonehead moves. We tried to tell them not to sell them to the store cause we won't give them anything (Corporate music store's = unfair used prices). While I was there I saw the store buy:

90's Alembic Elan - $200
Roscoe 7 String Bass - $300
Gibson Era Tobias Growler - $200
and more of the same.

I did buy a Sunn 6x10 cabinet for a project cab down the road.....for.......$20

To date, I think I'd say selling my Ibanez ATK. I even used it, I just needed dough for a PA.

Ray tone, flamed Koa top, and a 1.75" nut.

I don't know, man, but as I recall, you were "thinking" for a long time while trying to sell it!

I've heard/read/seen more than a few (including myself) who regret getting rid of an ATK. Fortunately, I found another one and I'll never let her go.
