Any chance you can post a before/after sound clip? I've always been curious about the 2020s
I don’t have a great recording set up, but I’ll try. The difference may be subtle over a recording, but I really hear (feel?) it through my live FRFR rig. The attack of the notes really pop the more you dig in. It really warms up the tone.

Well I've gotten some good tones I'm happy with for general use for nice clean, crunch and gnarly stuff. Mostly pretty basic patches with a light touch of signal splitting and light eq stuff.

Decided to have a play around at recreating some favourite bass tones to really force me to really get to grips with the GT1K starting with Justin Chancellor. It's still a way off but getting closer.

While I'd never want to copy someone elses tone for my own stuff, trying to achieve a very specific sound is a great educational tool (no pun intended). I've never had access to pedals other than a compressor and fuzz really so this teaching me a lot about building the signal chain which is awesome!

Wow! Sounds amazing

Here's a patch I've named CLConcert2x15 (Clean Concert 2x15). It's a very basic patch that demos a clean sound.

Sorry for spamming this thread but had another question.

So I've been giving my GK head another go using 4CM to hook up the preamp as a send. When I use my head without any AIRD preamps activated the speaker SIM doesn't work. I've spent an hour trying to work out what was going on with my IRs before I realised!

Is this intended behaviour?

I can’t see anything in the manual about this. But in the Hardware Settings, you can set Send1 or Send2 as a Sub Out. So if you’re using the 4CM utilising Send1, Send2 can be Sub Out with Sub Out Speaker Sim.

Afaik, yes, the AIRD preamps are designed to work together with their respective cab sims, which is why the blocks are linked to a degree. As for whether the speaker sim block is supposed to work without an active preamp block, I have no idea, but glad you found a workaround.

"A key focus of AIRD is the reactive amp/speaker relationship, which is essential to the dynamic feel and musical responsiveness of tube amplifiers."

If you put your output to Recording, you can change your speaker sim with the AIRD Pre’s. You can also turn the pre off and have the speaker sim active.
