Just joined the GT1K Core crew, and am planning to try it out as part of an integrated board. I'm going to explore the dirt tones more in time, but the immediate goal is to use it for modulation and delay, in place of the delay (collider), flanger (bf-2), and pitch (EHX PF) pedals on the board now. If I can rearrange things appropriately, the CORE should allow me to replace all of those three, add more verb, looping, phaser, etc. And it will allow me to maintain and rearrange my routing of things more preciselty.
Question for the hive mind to hopefully get myself up and running asap...
The heart of my board/sound is a Rusty Box, which I run in the loop of a Damnation Loop Blender. This basically lets me blend back some low-passed lows to add thickness to the relatively tight low end of the Rusty Box. On my current board I have a pitchfork, distortion, fuzz, and wah before the Rusty/Damnation combo, with my flanger and delay running after.
The goal is to throw my distortion, fuzz, and wah into the CORE's first FX loop, and the Rusty Box/Blender into the second loop. This should give me the freedom to place the CORE's pitch shifting, modulation, and delay/verb effects wherever I want in the chain...i.e. pitch shifting effects > loop 1 dirt > loop 2 RB > delay effect, etc.
My main questions are:
1) How to find the best starting point for configuring patches so the loops with my pedals are not being altered aside from position in the chain? Are there any specific settings for the Core's send/return blocks that I should be mindful of to make sure I'm not altering the sound of the dirt pedals?
2) I've adjusted/created an input level to suit my main jazz bass. However, I'm unsure of my best way to set the output of the CORE since I'll be simply using it for the FX Loop and effects listed above, into the front of my amp. I don't need any cab emulation. So I'm curious of the optimal output settings to make sure I'm just giving my amp the bass > effects/loops of the CORE > amp?
Sorry for being needy here. I'll definitely spend the next few weeks deep diving and picking through the manual as I work on some patches. In the meantime though, I'm trying to get the effects/loops up and running ASAP.
Thanks!
