Can you run two instruments in it, each with its own effect chain? I only see one input whereas the Core has two inputs.

I’ve been thinking about how to construct a 3 channel patch where the Bass, Middle, and Treble frequencies are split between the 3 channels. The Katana would be perfect for that third amp tone and effects using the 4CM. The idea would be to have 3 independent channels to apply drive and effects. So you could have a drive tone in the Middle channel, and chorus in the Treble for example.

Good idea. Using the Core’s Looper would be more efficient in recording the bass’s uneffected/dry sound and A/Bing the pedal and AIRD Amp from there.

I tried to replicate my Tech21 paradriver di with the BASS DRV (dist type, BDDI 'model') and EQ but did not get close enough. I am going to setup the Core looper in front and a A/B switch (boss LS-2) to compare Core vs Tech21. Switching cabels was not fun haha!

I am SO glad I cannot design and build my own pedals, I wouldn't have time to actually play the pedals I am afraid..:D

@Correlli, screenshot of the EQ would be appreciated. You probably will post it on ToneStudio but I have a linux PC and cannot use the Boss editor...

Yeah this is what I do, pop the looper at the beginning of the signal chain and get a looping dry tone. It’s particularly useful when everyone else is asleep and they don’t want to hear you erratically twanging notes in the room next door

I had the lows bypassing the preamp completely in one patch, just had some EQ and compression on. If you were happy to do that you could save the preamps for mid/treble channels.

I haven’t even looked at the Looper yet, Doh! Playing bass and trying to construct a patch or auditioning effects is a bit of a hassle.

Here's a demo from a project I've been working on. Guess I'd describe it as Shoegaze, Alt, Prog Rock. Who knows. The song doesn't move or groove around much. It's more about layers, texture, and feel. All guitar and bass is GTCore. There's 5 bass patches and 10 guitars patches. Bass has up to 4 layers in one part, same with guitar.

I dig it!

Does anyone know if there's a way to have 3 actions assigned to a switch? For example, I'd like the ^ switch to swap between Amp 1 -> Amp 2 -> All amps Off
I don’t think you have the option to do these three things on one switch. You can easily switch between Amp 1 and Amp 2 on one press, but you would need another button to turn all amps off. I might be wrong, so fee free to correct me, but that is my understanding. There is no option for a long press, so it would it would be another action to turn them all off.

Yeah, I don't think that's a thing. I do have a couple of Boss FS-6's that I could use to have an "All off" assignment, but it would be handy to be able to cycle through multiple related blocks with one switch, another example would be cycling phaser > chorus > flanger with changing colors for the selected effect.

I think for now an external switch will do it for me.
