So far with the Core I’ve played around with the built in AIRD preamps, 4cm’d my GK Fusion S/700rb and the Master Effects Super 800 preamp pedal but the EAE Model FeT is my favourite.

Honestly I think I had a perfectly usable tone with the AIRD preamps, especially for playing live though. Definitely a case of diminishing returns but I love it!

———Mastering FX!!!!——-
Can someone explain what these do and how they are different in a straight forward way. Specially the first 3. I’m absolutely loving them in my chains right now.
Additionally can someone explain why when I use the “Live master fx option” I’m able to get a significantly louder phat bottom end, without it clipping my input preamp in my amp(Mesa WB-800)?
Do the master fx work using multiband compression and limiters to reduce specific frequencies that would normal trigger my preamp tube while making the overall bottom signal louder. I understand perceived volume, but the impact the live Master fx makes on increasing volume of the bottom end is absolute magic and I can’t wrap my head around how it is not triggering my preamp tube in my Mesa and getting more bottom end volume.
How do the Mastering FXs work?

"MASTERING FX," which demonstrates potential for line output, has been added to FX TYPE.
Eleven types of settings that combine multiple effects such as multi-band compressor, limiter, enhancer, and equalizer have been provided as TYPE settings. Full-fledged mastering to boost the acoustic pressure of the sound and make sound contours more distinct can now be carried out.

TLDR; Magic.

Unscientific comparison below, but not a fan of the "Live" setting personally. Seems to do a thing similar to the "contour" or "ultra low" functions on amps - low bass boost combined with a mid cut centered on ~500Hz (I already scoop out a bit as it's a pretty busy range). Also probably heavily compresses the lows to get that solid foundation going.

Anyone got the Boss wireless expression pedal?

So far my list of purchases are:
  • Cioks sol
  • Longsword or Subspace drive pedal
  • Radial ProDI
  • Some kind of expression pedal
Got my new (slightly bigger) RB2.1 pedalboard and a load of wire/jacks for some neat cabling. Then I think I’ll be done.

For the wireless expression you need a wire to connect a bluetooth receiver to the Core? You do this to free up a controller input? Or does the wireless something 'special'?
I was curious how/if it worked with the WIDI jack as I already have that hooked up.

The main attraction was the the expression pedal with toe switch that few seem to have. Super useful for toggling between volume and wah etc.
