Boss GT-10B

What I usually do (and have always done so in the GT6B) was turn everything off, and start from scratch, that way I was always very satisfied with the end result. I have never used the amp sims, since I believe that my amp is the best I could get.
In my opinion the factory presets are just there to give us an idea of what the possibilities of the GT-10b are. :)

That's exactly what I do, and I think this is only way to get maximum of this processor. Building good effect that is good on stage as it's good at home demand some experience and "hit or miss" tests...With this device this is not a problem...

Regarding amp simulation, my opinion is that it should be used mostly in studio...because it's not to convenient live , unless you have good soundman who knows what to expect from you.

Can it be that the overall volume is too high up? Have you noticed that there is also an option to adjust the GT-10b to where it is plugged in (e.g. amp with or without tweeter, mixing desk)
I have no clipping whatsoever, not even on the louder patches...

I'm sorry, I was referring to clipping on the GT6B not the GT10B.It sounds like they may have fixed this issue on the 10B.

Your 6B shouldn't have any clipping if it works properly. I experienced clipping with 10B only in situation when hot output bass was plugged into it, and when Preamp was ON with IT'S Gain knob turned to hi (not the OUTPUT GAIN). By turning it down a little bit I solved the problem. However, this was the simulated overdriving which would happen with the real amp if there was Input gain set to hi, so at the end I didn't noticed any clipping if PREAMP was OFF, even with hi output bass.

Great! Thanks for the insight. Did you have a 6B before the 10B? Many of us are waiting to hear some direct comparisons of the two units.

Jeff Schmidt picked one of these up and I was impressed. It sounded great and the dual signal path was a great feature. You can also route MIDI and audio through the usb port allowing the unit to be able to control other MIDI devices. So you can not only control Abelton Live but route the audio into the G10B and right into your amp!!!

A buddy of mine picked one up and I'll play with it soon and get back to ya.

Sorry, didn't played 6B but I have few friends who are very satisfied with 6B and they didn't report any clipping issues. People often say that 10B is better. Maybe yes maybe not, but I know that it works great to me.

I have had the GT-6B and now the GT-10B, the only thing that has not improved is the synth section (less options) but on the other hand has the synth section been improved in a way that the notes are more steady, on the 6 notes tended to jump all over the place if you dared to twitch your left hand.
All the other stuff is an improvement over the 6, the only thing I miss on this thing is an input for my iPod so for practice is still use my ME-5B. But since the GT-6B didn´t have an input as well, the 10 is still an improvement.

I can't believe I didn't notice this before. I was totally looking forward to playing with my ipod because I live in an apartment and I have no other way of practically practicing/playing with music. Omg, this sucks. Does anyone have any ideas for jerry rigging a type of aux in or something? This is a MAJOR bummer for me! Maybe I'll have to hold off buying this for awhile. Help!

On the note of the Zoom B2.1u, I own one and I thought the effects and modeling really sounded crap, when plugged into my practice amp which I had for 2 years.

After getting a proper bass head + 410 cabinet, I plugged in the Zoom B2.1u to that holy crap this multi-effects sound so good!

SO I guess i was missing out on a lot of little subtle but very important nuances in the effects that were totally lost on the combo amp, but brought out really clearly on my new head + cab.

In case you don't now I recommend you to buy Tascam MP-BT1 mp3 bass trainer. This is must-have for quiet practicing and is not too expensive. It has his own effects which are OK but you can use Boss GT10B (or any other proc. that you like) in front of it. It's slightly larger than iphone. I have it and I'm very very satisfied.
