Boss GT-10B

So. Who still uses this nice piece of gear? We’re in 2023 now.

Sold mine on some years ago now, but I still am supporting the GT-10BFxFloorBoard editor software for quite a few more years yet.
Since then, I have been using both the Roland GR-55 and Boss SY-1000, I have a Boss GT-1B, and SY-300 too.
Also brought and sold another GT-6B.

I still use your software. Makes everything 1000x more simples to use. What is your thought comparing the GT10B to the newer multi Fx?

The newer Boss mfx, like the GT-1000, Sy-1000 (has most the same fx & amps as the GT-1000) are great, night and day better than the GT-10B (sorry to say), higher fidelity effects, although mostly the same types, the amps are notably better/brighter/punchier.
The GX-100 is also something to look at, color touch screen and you can add multiples of the same effect (until DSP limit).

To me at least, they aren’t $500 better than the GT-10b, so I can’t bring myself to update to the new gear yet. Plus, after spending a little time dialing in the punch on the 10b, I’ve had nothing but great reviews from the Sound Technicians that I’ve worked with. That being said, when the used price of the Core comes down a couple hundred more, I might maybe update to it. But, it’ll be a whole new learning process all over again.

I am interested in replacing my B3N with a GT10B. Have you compared the two units? I read, "there are two signal chains, but ONLY ONE SET OF EFFECTS!!! BEWARE", on the GT. I know it was an old thread and maybe someone has figured a way around this. I am also interested in the looper on the GT? Would a independent looper pedal be a better choice?

Yeah, I still do, but only at home directly into the soundcard of the computer.
Still a good piece of gear and wouldn't shy away using it in a live situation to go directly into the desk. Always got compliments for it then.
Yeah, there are newer options, more refined. But as I have a tendency to move generally away from multi fx , I'm not going for an upgrade. And even if, can't complain about the sound. If at all, the ui is sometimes clumsy.

Have not tried the B3N.
There are two signal chains and all the available effects can be freely placed before the chain split,
in either channel A or B of the parallel chain,
or after they merge.
I don't know what there is to beware of, or what there is to figure out ?

GT-10B is now 15 years old (FYI)
Happy Birthday Boss GT-10B

it’s in his teenage years. I know there new stuff with IR and more things. But I think the GT-10B still is a good complete package. Sounds good and has a lot of features you only find in the top of the line pedalboards.

the only thing negative for me is that you can only have two FX in the chain. Fx1 and fx2. But that’s enough for a bass player right?

Thank you for that software BTW! I just set my GT-10B back up last night and wanted software to read and write the banks. Boss's own software is 16 years old and dead but your software works on my 14.4.1 Mac. Also, I dig the layout and work. Thank you. A very handy tool, and yes, people still use it in 2024!
