Boss GT-10B

Hello Gt10B users! I've just got this unit a month ago, and did some good patches on it, but I've found some wierd phenomenons.
1. Reverb. As I turn the reverb on, the sound becomes thin, and phasey. I tried to solve the problem, so first turned the effect level to 0, direct level 100, no change. Then I've put the reverb the channel B, and set the unit to mix mode, but when turned the reverb on, the sound became thin again. Then I made an experiment, I've set to Single channel mode, reverb stayed on the B channel. I turned on the reverb, and again the same effect, sound became thin, even when the reverb was set to channel B, which was not active at all. Have you experienced this? I haven't found any use of the reverb like this, as it kills the sound in any setting.
2. Chorus. It makes the same as the reverb. It thins out the sound as well, no matter what you do, I have set the low cut to 800 Hz, and still the low end is thinned. And there is no direct level control at chorus! Funny, as I've read reviews about how good the chorus... Wierd.
If you know some sollutions to these problems, thanks!

The case solved itself. I don't understand completely, why the phenomenon appeared, but it was in connection with the pedal assign feature. I wanted to switch two effects the same time, and the effects were selected in the "Pedal FX" menu , and the "Pedal Assign" menu as well, and somehow it made the unit crazy. The sollution was, that I've assigned one effect in the Pedal FX menu, and the other int Pedal Assign menu to the same control pedal, and now it switches both, without killing the sound. So, happyness again, and the chorus and the reverb sounds good! :)

Hi. I have a question. Has anybody tried to insert another multi-effects on the effects loop of the GT-10B. And another question, how is the bypass tone of GT-10B. I am trying to integrate a multi-effects with an effects loop with my Zoom B3n, and I am trying to figure out if the bypass tone of GT-10B is uncolored.

I'm using Boss LS-2 with my GT-10B to bypass as well as to integrate it with other pedals (which happens to be other multi-effects such as Zoom B1xon and/or Korg Pandora Stompbox) instead of using GT-10B send & return or daisy-chains them.

I've used the GT-10B send & return in 4 cables connection to isolate the in-built amp's preamp so it could be used (or not be used) as part GT-10B preamp.

I am planning to do it amp-less so 4CM method won't be applicable for me. This is what I'm supposed to do:
Bass>GT 10-B>Effects loop to Zoom B3n>Output of GT 10-B to VT Bass DI. I have read a lot of comments where they say the ODs sound digital. If that's the only problem I can deal with that, I am only after the fact that the GT-10B has an awesome parallel chain integration. Is this setup possible?

Okay. I will try that. So the Boss GT-10B has an un-coloured buffered bypass? I don't need to make certain EQ adjustments? I'm planning to trade my Zoom B3 with a GT-10B. I would like to try the parallel chaining of effects of the Boss pedal. I'm hoping this is not just a glorified effects loop and that I can make some use of it.

This is long overdue......
I FINALLY got around to applying some contact cleaner to the XLR outputs in an attempt to address the intermittent BAD hiss that those ouputs produce (as reported by other users, too). I sprayed some stuff in there and then worked a cable on and off several times and there seemed to be no discernible improvement.
Disappointed.

Should be fine..i run everything into a Radial DI and then put the GT10B into it's effect loop..The end of the chain seems to be the best way to do it.

I jumped the gun and purchased a Gallien-Krueger Plex Preamp. Someone was selling me an old Boss GT-10B which was kinda rusty at the same price of a brand new Plex Preamp, so I had to make a choice. Those Boss units really do stand the test of time, and kind of future-proof still to be selling at a very high price.

I am interested in buying a multieffects pedal just for the effects. I do not care about amp simulations and i have decided about Boss gt10b or gt6b. Which one is better for effects only? I have an EBS Microbass II and a Markbass Compressore for other needs and i want to place all of them on a pedalboard, so size does matter a bit!

The GT10B is large..21 1/2 by almost 10 1/2

Thank you for the info. How about the effects quality though?
I don't use much effects ever..I do use a couple of amp sims and the occassional defretter for a tune..The Octaver is not so good..there are a LOT of effects..the chorus ones seem to work well. Folks say that some of the effects are not as good as single pedals..but there are soooo many different pedals and everyone's taste is different..all in all it goes with me everywhere i go..it's an integral part of my sound..

I bought the Boss GT-10B and i was wondering about how to set the input and output levels. So far i just put it in tuner bypass (not mute) and then i set the effects block one by one so that each one does not affect output level. The output level knob is maxed out. The level meters though is between 3rd and 4th line in patch level and in the effects chain meter is rather low between forst and second line. Is this the correct method of setting the levels? Maybe there is a patch that i could probably use to set the levels?
