Boss GT-10B

I don't have any windows 10 drivers, just saying the editor program software is now windows 10 compatible.

Boss just needs to release updated windows 10 drivers.

Although many have had success modifying the windows 8 driver to work on windows 10.

Here is a repost quoted from another site, the example uses the GT-001 driver, but the same can be done with the GT-10B windows 8 driver file.
Thanks mate

Have you set the midi device settings in the "Tools/Preferences > Midi/USB" menu?
The device should show as "GT-10B", select that for in and out midi device.
There is also a setting in the GT-10/GT-10B for System/Midi, requiring the "USB Driver Mode" be set to "advanced mode" to enable the USB/midi port and provide ASIO compatible 24bit audio.

I see you are from Wellington. I was there last week, trying to leave on Friday, flights delayed 2hrs due to high winds.

I'll check it out when I get home, thanks bro.
If you thought last week was bad, you should see today. 130k/h winds. Give me a yell next time you're down, I'll buy you a beer or something

Hey that worked a treat mate, thanks for that

Gumtown, this may be a silly question but I'm looking to buy a backup gt 10b and of course they are out of production now. Is there any way I could buy a gt 10 which is more readily available and dump the gt 10b's settings into that unit? Is that even a possibility? thanks a bunch for all your efforts on this awesome pedal. I've learned a ton from you on this thread

Personally I wouldn't bother, save some money, and buy Zoom B3 with a expression pedal instead.

Not that I actually tried the GT-10B it but I always found Boss digital effects kind of bland and sterile sounding without any real character, and I doubt this unit is any different.

Zoom used to sound even worse, but I must say the B3 supprised me positively, even impressed me.

Even the amp simulators and dirt effects sounds pretty good in that unit.

The Boss ME-20B I had at some point on the other hand was a terrible let down and got sold pretty quickly.

When that is said I guess it is a matter of personal taste though.

Edit: Sorry, didn't notice the thread starter's post was that old, guess this thread has taken a completely diferent turn. Anyway this was just my 50 cent t add to the discussion.

I just picked one of these up in VGC for $300 last night - I am running it to a Peavey 1x15 with a low crossover up to a SWR California Blonde 10" w/tweeter, so a 3-way system - printed out a manual, but have only just gotten through the 50 factory presets, noodling with the phrase looper on the sets I liked best - the previous user/store has saved settings also that I will listen to and study before overwriting -

I'm having a complete and total blast playing an Ibanez 506 through this space machine. With the SWR's additional mic input I have a versatile practice/small venue rig with lots of headroom.
Sounds that have impressed me thus far -
Trace Elliot emulation seems spot on
many of the Slap tones
The compressor stage overall, everything's pretty smooth
A lot of the Jerry Garcia-esque autowah sounding presets
octave and guitar sounds

I've never used a phrase looper before, and was able to jump right in with a quick manual reference. What a mesmerizing practice. This really makes you see the value of using a more robust loop station, thus opening up the full tonal palette of the 10B while looping (you cannot change FX banks while using the onboard looper - even so, the possibilities are vast...)

Before the night is through, I intend to try a few guitars through this rig also. It can have global presets for 3 instruments, so I may do 2 bass 1 guitar for solo endeavors -

Today's weirdness included some loopy fun with original tunes, as well as Paul Simon's 'under african skies' and David Bowie 'space oddity', the latter with setting P19 and just using a "drum" loop.

I am noticing that some of the sparklier presets are highlighting the noise of the bass, but many others are noiseless. Thus begins a side-quest to clean up the signal.

It's too damn cold to seriously consider going out, so this was the perfect weekend to pick this starship module up. I've played through it around 8 hours thus far, still haven't gotten to the previous user patches nor making my own - I will say the the Presets do compel you to make your own, as they seem to be laid out as a list - some make useful sets of 4, others not so much.

The synth presets all seem to have a high noise gate on them, so they don't speak, and then all of a sudden they're twice as loud as the last preset. Not a problem once you know it's there, ease off the volume and play harder, but thats counter intuitive. That noise gate or whatever it is, I'm sure has something to do with the number of reviews that declare the synth tones on this unit "useless", while others say they're fine if you tweak 'em.

Hi mate. I found the real fun begins when you start creating your own patches. Have a read through the thread, there's heaps of useful information here.

Hi Guys,
I'm new to BOSS and new to this GT10B that I bought few weeks ago, I started to play with it and to create my own patches, I'm not impressed with the sound, but I am completly admirative with all the "virtual wireing" you can do with it.
This GT_FX_Floorboard Editor is such a wonderfull tool to start understanding the beast!! love it, thanks a lot Gumtown!
but I'm now stuck for a patch I wood like to create, and this is the subject of my post :

Is-it possible to create a "dive bomb" effect controled by the CTL-1 (or 2.. but the Fx pedal is already assigned)?
I read something relative to that on the GT10 (for guitar), but I couldn't find the same settings on the GT10B...

Thank's a lot for any idea!

Can anyone help me, what I'm trying to do is program CTL 1 (or 2) so that it makes a tone glide down 1 octave (glissando)
Something like this,
use the "pedal bend" effect as it is the smoothest pitch bending effect (pitch shift does semi-tone bumps), use the CTL1 pedal to both enable the pedalbend effect (momentary so it returns to normal pitch immediately when released), and an assign using internal pedal to do a time based pedal bend 'pedal position', which is the same as moving the EXP pedal at a certain speed set by the int pedal time.

**********Pedal FX***********
[Pedal FX :On/Off] = Off
[Exp 1: Function] = PB/FV
[CTL 1: Function] = Pedal FX
[PB: Pitch Min] = -12
[PB: Pitch Max] = 0
[PB: Pedal Position] = 0
[PB: Effect Level] = 100
[PB: Direct Level] = 0

**********Assign 1***********
[On/Off] = On
[Target] = PDL: PB Pdl Position
[Min] = 100
[Max] = 0
[Source] = INT PEDAL
[Source Mode ] = Moment
[Act Rng Lo] = 0
[Act Rng Hi] = 127
[Internal Pedal Trigger] = CTRL 1 PDL
[Int Pdl Time] = 30
[Int Pdl Curve] = Linear

or something like that..

Having used the GT10B live for several years, I now have a Greenboy Cab and am drastically altering the pedal...ie: very few effects....

I would like to assign a specific effect globally via the CTL1 or 2....which is easy to do......the QUESTION is how to for example on the EQ, make a global EQ setting that will be the same with every patch..

Damned if I can find how to do such a simple thing..

The GT-10B has 5 EQ's on hand.
One each in FX1 and FX2, but we won't worry about those.
There is the main EQ effect which is moveable anywhere in the signal chain,
a patch Master EQ at the end of the chain,
and a global EQ at the end of the chain.
The global affects all patches, but is only a simple low/high and a parametric mid.
The Master EQ works the same, Low/High, and parametric, but is configurable for each patch.
The main EQ effect has low/high filter cutoff and boost/cut, and two mid parametric, each with Freq, Q, Gain.
the main EQ is also different for each patch.
If you want the same EQ on each patch, you can use the limited feature Global EQ found in the 'System' settings, or use the main patch EQ and set it for each patch.

An easy way to set the main EQ same for each patch, using the GT-10BFxFloorBoard editor software
GT Fx FloorBoard - Browse /GT-10BFxFloorBoard at SourceForge.net

Copy the patch into the Main screen clipboard (Temp1~Temp5), then from the EQ effect page, use the 'Bulk Write' feature to Write the EQ only settings to a defined range of User patches in the GT-10B
