BOSS - GX-100 | Guitar Effects Processor

Based off the GT 1000.

This the GT1000 Core with more buttons?
And colour touch screen. Might be more effects too, as I saw a preset in one of the demos say "Dimension" and the GT1000 didn't have a DC-2. The manuals don't seem to be available yet though, so can't check out all the effects.

It is cheaper than the GT 1000 Core though, so there must be some features cut.

I saw this on an Ad from PMT in my email inbox this morning and I though "Derek Williams will be all over this!"
 It'll look good on your board Sir!

Their ad seems a little off imo. The Headrush Gigboard already had a touchscreen and a very good one at that. Still, seems like a very capable unit.
Not quite sure your point, should Boss not use a colour touchscreen? I've found the previous monochrome interface of the GT 1000 to work great and easy to use, but it's good to see them finally moving forward and I think it's a big deal for Boss and worth advertising. I hope all their future devices also continue with colour screens.

I've actually switched over to a Quad Cortex :D But yeah, depending on what effects it has, this thing looks great. It isn't for me anymore, but I was very happy with my GT 1000 Core when I had it.

The difference with the effects use on this,
unlike the GT-1000 where you have a set layout/menu of effects,
the GX-100 allows multiple instances of the same effect.
You start with a blank pallet and drag in the effects you want, if you want 9 delays in a row, sure.

There are maximum limitations of 2 Amps, 1 Send loop, 1 looper, 1 Master, 9 instances of the same effect.
but you can keep adding up to 15 effects/blocks.

It's also 48khz vs 96khz in the GT-1000, which could affect quality when using many effects, but I've never really looked into any kind of comparison. And only a single effects loop. I think for the price point this looks to be a great multi effects, but the GT-1000 Core would still be better to integrate into a pedalboard (not to mention smaller size). The GX-1000 is probably going to be pretty sweet though :D

Yeah, looks like it's dynamic DSP allocation. This is cheaper than the Core, and has more switches, so I wonder where they've cut costs. Looks like it's a 24bit/48kHz unit (EDIT: 32bit FP processing though, thanks for the correction), maybe a way to save processing power?

I'm sure this is one hell of a rig, but what the hell good is a touch screen on the floor? Barefoot to flip between screens? Love that video, same language as the owner's manual.

Maybe . . . . it's just me. Roll 'em like a BOSS.
