BOSS OC-2 synth mod with sound clips

gastric said:
Try it through overdrive and distortion. Gives you lots of different usable tones besides the regular 'ole OC-2 into Mammoth/Oxide/Brown Dog/etc.

Oh trust me I do! Here are the fuzzes/dirt I use:

Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz
Wooly Mammoth Clone
EHX Russian BM
Way Huge Swollen Pickle
Fender Sub-Lime
Tech 21 Red Ripper

I love me some fuzz!

I also run it into a BSY-600 to fatten it up even more!

Finally got some toggles on hand and installed them on my two OC-2. The Japanese box can support toggles installed near the power jack, the Taiwan box can support toggles on top near the OCT1/2 controls. Now you can select factory or squarewave sounds for each OCT1/2 individually for maximum sounds.

How do we do that fr the original?

I simply used two SPDT switches (3 contacts) that way each OCT1 and OCT2 can run off their own switch independently.

If you opt to use a single DPDT switch you're basically getting two SPDT switches but they work off the same toggle, thus both OCT1 and OCT2 are being toggled simultaneously.

You can use a DPDT swith as a SPDT, just wire only one half of it. DPDT isn't that much more expensive than the SPDT so it's not particularly wasteful.

That's the only functional difference.

Wiki has a great illustration and description of these switches: Switch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

nice one sillyfabe. I am still working on my OC-2 but you are keeping me motivated to get my mod finished.

ps. love your Roger Waters P-bass.

Thanks and thanks! I can't solder for nothing but if you just sit down it can be done easily!

I can do it for anyone (Taiwan ONLY) either with one DPDT or 2 SPDT switches if you send it to me and pay for shipping both ways and maybe 5.00 for parts?
IF I MESS IT UP THEN SORRY NO RETURNS! But I'm very confident and have done it 3 times now....
