i tried it out the other day... it is very easy to use, but that depends on what you want to do with it.
-stomp once to start recording.
-stomp again to stop recording/start looping.
-stomp again to overdub.
-stomp twice to stop (that's the only part that's a little less than good).
-stomp once to start the loop again.
you can get optional expression pedals to get closer to the rc20's functionality. but if you just only need minimal looping capabilities, then the rc2 rocks. it honestly took me about 1 minute to get used to it. i think i'll pick one up soon, actually.

I got this looper about a month a go and i love it. its very easy to use. if you want, u can get a nonlatching footswitch to go with it to use as a stop and tempo tap button.

i tried this pedal and liked the experience! i'm really considering buying it, anyone else tried it too?
i still have one question... for how long can you loop one entire phrase? for example, if i want to make a simple first phrase that lasts 30 seconds or more, the pedal can make it?
is it possible to record an entire 3 minute song on 1 store so i can solo during the entire song?
i never tried other loop pedals, but everyone says that the rc20xl is still better because it is easier to use in a live situation. but if you get an fs-5u you'll get the same as the rc20xl, except for the reverse function. but with the added drum samplers, i guess?

the rc2, as far as i know, can hold a total of 16 minutes of loop time.

yes, but my question is: if you want to record a song that lasts for 15 minutes, for example, and fill all the space in just one store with no layers, is it possible?
Me too there's one at the local music store and its on sale for 205 Canadian, list 285 so I have some extra cash and I'm going to buy it on monday.
I just bought an rc2 today and I'm really liking it. It only took a couple of minutes to get used to it and I can see a lot of uses for it in the near future. One thing though I'm think I'm going to have to get the footswitch - stepping twice to stop is a bit of an issue maybe I'll get used to it though or just bend down and slowly fade the volume off. I was in a bit of a rush when I bought it and left the manual at the store though so I don't know how to use it to it's fullest yet but I'm going to run down tommorrow or the next day and grab the manual. It will be nice to fill up a little more space when jamming with just bass and drums.
I have serious GAS for one of these babies, aparently the drum machine has different time signitures too, which I'll need in my band

apparently the only time signatures you can do with it are 4/4 and 3/4, but there are more different drum patterns available.
i was just playing with an RC50 tonight... that thing can do 15/8 if you want it to. but it's a little too much for what i want to do with a looper. i'll probably have one in the future, though....

I just got one. This little boss loopstation is a really nice pedal, recommended to anyone who's interested in the RC-20XL model, but wouldn't mind using reverse and fade features.
Just one question:
From the 8th to the 11th phrase, there are 4 preset phrases: 3 bluesy loops to jam along with, and 1 ''special effect'' sound. Is that the same on yours?

Has anyone tried this with the footswitch? How does the Stop/Tempo thing work? It seems like you'd have to set the tempo before starting the loop, and there's no way to compensate on the fly for over-eager drummers... please correct me if I'm wrong! I can't find the manual on the Boss site.
I end-up not using my looper as much as I should (RC-20). But Y'know what an effects-freak should LOVE - and I haven't really seen it mentioned - is that you can put the looper BEFORE your effects chain (for performance one would often want it after). That way you can finely tweek effect and rig settings - even walking around the room - while your LOOPER plays a consistant bass part for you.
Like go up and make an adjustment, step back away into the room and check it out; go up and tweek, step back and listen...
I've really been able to dial-up my tones that way.
